Like many queer people, I’ve learned to find the words through experience, curiosity, vulnerability, mistakes, and growth. For the past three years, my relationship to sex has been constantly developing. While at first, I identified as a bottom, I now describe myself as versatile, but a huge part of my journey has been experiencing bottoming. At first, bottoming felt intimidating. Not because I didn’t want it, but because so much pressure was built up around it — with expectations being shaped by porn, hookup culture, and stereotypes. I thought I had to be “good” at it immediately, that my body had to react a certain way and that discomfort was something to push through. I was wrong. Being a bottom is often reduced to a stereotype or a sexual position, but in reality, it’s a deeply personal and dynamic experience. Bottoming isn’t about being passive or powerless — it’s about understanding your body, communicating with your partner, and creating conditions where pleasure feels safe, mutual, and fulfilling. This guide explores what it really means to be a bottom, how to prepare mentally and physically, and how to make sex more comfortable and enjoyable for both partners. What is a bottom? A bottom is typically the partner who takes the receptive role during sex, most commonly during anal penetration. However, bottoming isn’t limited to one act or one rigid definition. For some people, it’s about receiving pleasure in general — physically, emotionally, or both. Sexual roles are not fixed identities. We are allowed to have a voice — one that can be loud, harsh, and reflective of the equally harsh reality we face. As I thought more about this project, I realized that Bitchcraft is not just about music. It’s about art in general—from sluts, trans, and queers for sluts, trans, and queers. For those who identify with carrying female energy and want to own it by expressing it unapologetically. It primarily revolves around performance art, it’s a multifunctional, multimedia, multidisciplinary platform for anyone who wants to express themselves by using the body as a tool for self-expression. Hence, this project focuses on aerial performance (pole, aerial hoop, etc.) by queer community, giving a spot to non-binary and trans people, (queer) women and men on the pole. By literally lifting ourselves out of reality — gravitating and flying through people’s perceptions — we aimed to transform that reality, highlighting the issues of modern society. This included the stigmatization and objectification of pole performance and strip-style dance. Bitchcraft was created to provide a safe space for the queer community to express themselves within the challenging context of living in Eastern Europe (Slavic, Balkan, Eurasian members). Since I lived in Ukraine at the time and the project was initiated there, we focused on performing and uniting locally, but not exclusively. After the full-scale invasion, stigma and pressure on the queer community only intensified (though it was never easy before). Due to the fact that many members of the community were men of conscription age, we couldn’t realize a single performance. These men were harassed on the streets, taken to police stations, and even pulled out of supermarkets. For this reason, any performance would have had to be underground, but a lack of funding and my obligation to leave Ukraine prevented it from happening. Still, the idea remains relevant, and I am determined to bring it to life in Ukraine when I can. We are not the only ones who face danger simply for existing. Hence, we would love to involve other Eastern countries in order to popularise our message, and unite people facing all forms of soviet colonialism, and also promote it and perform in Western Europe, where these issues are also still very relevant, although colonial sensibilities around them are very different. I do my best to bring this vision to life across Benelux during this time that I’m unable to do so back home. After all, we firmly believe that all women are witches (and we proudly affirm this), and everyone - no matter their gender identity and expression - has a little witch bitch inside of them. There is no need for boundaries, balance, or a golden middle ground, because as a woman (not necessarily biological), you can be anything—you have every right to this by virtue of simply existing. You can embody contradictions, challenges, and ambiguity as you please. I want us to be able to freely and safely express ourselves through the artistic means granted to us at birth—our bodies. Stereotypes, prejudices, and social expectations shape our perception of our bodies. We often define its value, beauty and acceptance based on norms and standards imposed by society. However, the body is also a personal space that can be an arena for inner expression and self-determination. Every scar, complicated line, “bump” and inconsistency with “ideals” is a story of our experiences that we carry with us. Amidst the everyday dance of society, where every step looks rhythmic and stable, a play of shadows is unfolding, created by views and prejudices. Through the shades of twilight, sadness and pain break through, trying to suppress that unique movement that goes beyond stereotypes and accepted norms. Sometimes even the family, community of alleged support, turns into a dark, judgemental space for those whose lives do not fit the standards. We do not lose faith, we don’t believe that our uniqueness is a shadow. We know it’s a light that can be seen only by those who are ready to delve into the beauty of an extraordinary dance. Dancing with one's own identity is a challenge that not everyone is ready to face. However, it is in this challenge and this dancing in the dark that the great art of acceptance lies. Those who choose to move in this rhythm become not only dancers, but also those who teach the world to accept uniqueness and love not according to templates, but according to the call of the heart. What can determine the true depth of expression in dance? Can the body become an expressive tool, the embodiment of deep inner experiences? In all its beauty and complexity, can pole performance become a language that carries not only physical grace but also philosophical thoughts about existence? How can we fight homophobia with queer shows? Can a pole performance become a platform for considering and rethinking the problem of the objectification of women? How to clear the art of pole dance of objectification and stigma? How can dancers from the LGBTQ+ community intertwine their own stories and struggles against social stereotypes in their body language? How can each movement be truly expressive, not just a matter of posture and form, but also the inner truth of the artist? In a world where words often limit expression, can body movement become a catalyst for expressing deep feelings and concepts?How can we talk about the pain of discrimination through an aerial form of dance? What is acceptance of oneself and one's body, and what ways do we choose to achieve it? We wanted to create a media where we were in charge of which stories to share because unfortunately the media landscape here is dominated by a mainteam neoliberal mindset. And, it is crucial for there to be alternatives present to counter this status quo. In addition, we were craving a platform where we were interested in what was written instead of another corporate article that never depicts the stories of the most marginalized. I think déi aner’s concept has evolved into what it was always supposed to be, we just maybe didn't have that whole perspective at the beginning but more of a feeling of what it should be. And, I don't think that has changed. I also think that people like us have gravitated towards our platfrom, people from more radical, alternative and queer communities, the exact kinds of people that do not feel heard or represented. So, it has been a pleasure to be an alternative platform where people feel like our principles and stories speak to them. How does it place in Luxembourg where there’s such a lack of independent media and not many English speaking outlets?I don't think it can be placed. I think what we are doing is creating something completely different, something that has not really existed in the past, something for our generation and the way we utilize social media to inform ourselves today. One of the reason why Luxembourg is so crucial in the development of déi aner is exactly in the name of our platform: "the other". We are trying to create something for the others who do not have a voice YET. But, things are cooking I can tell you that and I am not only speaking about déi aner, but I am speaking about whole communities of people who are craving a reason to stay. And, déi aner, is just one example of creating a community, online or in person, that does not accept the very exclusionary original vibe of Luxembourg. We have no spaces for our kinds of people and so we have to create our own even if it starts with an Instagram account. Luxembourg with now nearly half of the population being foreigners. The english language is the future of this country. And, that is just a fact. When we have such a diverse number of people present who are very actively contributing to the prosperous Luxembourgish economy, I do think that the bear minimum is that we create platforms and events that can be accessible language wise to all these different communities of people. Happening on Walpurgis Night when all the witches gather to cast spells and execute rituals, we too gather to let our solidarity turn every dark little alley into a place of strength. The demonstration is created as a response to the dangers we face at night: sexism, harassment, sexual and gender-based violence. It’s an act of collective resistance an an effort to create safer spaces in hours that can be most compromising and dangerous.&nbsp; We will gather at 7 PM at Kinnekswiss and march through the city as the sun sets. We are a collective of close friends, clubrats, musicians, and artists, all of whom are trans and all of whom have ideas for how to make the Berlin queer club scene more approachable and fun, especially for trans people. We all love clubbing, we all love dance music, and we all want to create the kind of party that has wholesome vibes and good music that is fun to dance to and doesn’t take itself too seriously. The first event organized by I ❤️ TRANS is happening on May 28, at Acud Macht Neu, Berlin. It will be a tabloid fantasy come true, a 2010s beach party with paparazzi, beach umbrellas, whale tails, and bikinis. It’ll be sexy, bright, loud, exuberant, sweaty, and very very cute. Straight people, queers, and FLINTAs who are down with the tslurs - anyone who likes good music and cute vibes. Bring your sugar daddies and your rich friends. Bring your German roommates and your mom. Bring Florian. Despite Berlin’s reputation as a queer oasis, the experience of trans people navigating the queer culture scene here is most often disappointing. We want our party series to stand in stark contrast to the exclusionary and often bioessentialist and transmisogynistic tendencies of many “FLINTA” spaces and parties, to center and prioritize trans people, and to do so in a way that is accessible to the most marginalized of us (and affordable for all). We also wanted to create an event series that unambiguously supports the Palestine liberation and resistance movement. The first edition is specifically a surgery fundraiser party, and we want to continue the donation aspect as a recurring part of the series as well.
